Participants will learn how to work with vibrant colours of wool tops and other special fibres to create a piece of art inspired by a design idea of their own choosing (i.e. found through reference to photos or art they have done, colours they love, etc.).
Size options for table mats include: approximately 2’ square, 2’ diameter circle, or 3’ x 1’ rectangle. Each participant will take home their finished (but wet!) piece along with cotton fabric and iron-on tape to affix a backing to their piece should they wish for this extra finishing touch.
All kit costs are included in the class fee. Carolyn will contact all participants at least one week prior to the class in order to ask for participant design imagery and preferred table mat dimensions. This allows her to offer tips on design selection as well as to prepare kits.
Participants should bring:
- a beach or bath towel so absorb any water or soap
- a printed, sketched or easily accessible file image of their chosen design inspiration
- Lunch and water bottle

Artist Bio
Carolyn Parks is a fibre artist who works with wool to create wool ‘paintings’ through the process of wet felting. She is often inspired by nature in her pieces, and enjoys teaching as well as working out of her beautiful studio in the heart of St. Jacobs. Carolyn is the Chair of her local Kissing Bridge Art Tour with over 40 artists, and is proud to have her pieces in 3 galleries in South Western Ontario.
