The Ailsa Craig Arts Centre is thrilled to present this class featuring an original Theresa English design for a cell phone pouch or small purse. As Willow bark foraging was poor this year, this class will only be offered once. Theresa is a popular teacher at the Centre so don’t delay!
Artist’s description:
“I designed this woven willow bark bag to be just the right size to grab on the go and carry my cell phone, keys and wallet. You will weave around a mold that measures approx. 8” x 4” by 2 1/2”. The lid will be made from one sold piece of willow and hinged onto the basket. This is a fun class, you will be weaving and pulling at the bark for hours to create your one of a kind basket. If you have any weakness in your hands, this won’t be a good class for you.”
What to bring -
Scissors, spray bottle, old tea towel (will get stained) and a belt or piece of leather for a strap. I bought mine from a second hand store. Your lunch and snacks.
Kit Cost
There will be a kit including all the pre-cut willow bark, mold, linen, at a cost of $30 that you pay directly to the instructor on the day of the class
Please note- all Willow has been hand foraged, dried and cut by Theresa.
