Maybe you’d like to join this class as a KAL (Knit A-Long)? Then we have you covered.
Over the course of 3 weeks, Linda Sellick will teach you every part of sock knitting - The Cast On, Ribbed Cuff, Heel Flap, How to Turn the Heel using “Short Rows”, Gusset, Decrease Rounds, Knitting the Foot, Toe Shaping and Grafting the Toe (Kitchener Stitch). The pattern for a plain (Stocking Stitch), top down pair of socks has been designed by Linda for this class and is included with the cost of the class.
You will need to bring the following to class:
2 - 50gm Balls of Sock Weight Yarn (Fingering) or 1 - 100gm Skein of Sock Weight Yarn (Fingering) - PRE WOUND INTO 2 BALLS OF 50 gms EACH Note: Wool Yarn with a small percentage of nylon and a high twist is considered to be durable and best suited for socks.
A set of 2.25mm Double Pointed Needles. I prefer having a set of 5 Double Pointed Needles - If you consider yourself to be a tight or loose knitter, please go up or down a size accordingly.
Ring Type or Stitch Markers Locking Type Stitch Markers or Safety Pins Yarn Needle Scissors - Tape Measure - Pen/Pencil - Note Pad
Class 1 = 2 hrs
Class 2 = 2.5 hrs
Class 3 = 2 hrs Total Class Time: 6.5 Hours Experience Level: Students should be comfortable with the basics of knitting and be prepared to learn how to circularly knit using double pointed needles.
