Kids 10 years - 15 years are invited to register for this energetic SKILLS BASED program at the Ailsa Craig Arts Centre.
Doreen Kool, a former Art Teacher at Saunders Secondary School in London, specializes in creating and upcycling textiles. She has a fun and lively four days of creative exploration and skills based learning planned.
Specific projects planned for the week include:
Learning basic garment construction- sewing your own boxer shorts
Creating a lined bean bag chair
Knitting a beanie
And more!
These projects will teach interested kids some fundamental life skills and potentially open up the doors for future hobbies and creative expression.
Registration in this class includes a youth membership to the Ailsa Craig Arts Centre.
This class is equally suitable for boys or girls. Let's empower our kids today!
A $30 Kit fee is payable directly to Doreen on the first day of class. This will cover material, thread, elastic, beads, lining, stuffing and paint costs.
This is a skills based class and kids will be supervised but working with sewing machines, irons, scissors, seam rippers, needles etc. It is also being held in the ACAC where artists display their gallery works. We ask you to ensure your child is mature enough to conduct themselves appropriately in such an environment.
