This is a fun class where you will learn how easy and beautiful working with felt can be. You will have the choice of making a piece of work that can easily be mounted onto a canvas to display on your walls or as a book cover or to adorn a hand bag. If time permits we will also make a couple of
Christmas ornaments. From this class you will learn the skills to use this technique in a variety of ways. This method of stitching is also referred to as "slow stitching" and may be regarded as not only creative but also as a calming and meditative practice.
About the Teacher: Lynda Watson has been teaching with the Embroidery Guild in London for the past ten years. In this class, which is beginner friendly, Lynda will share her love of stitching with her students. Students will have the option of working on several provided patterns or with Lynda to design their own meaning ful piece of art.
What to bring: Students are to bring an assortment of DMC Embroidery cotton colours (6-8 colours to start). Needles, scissors, notebook, pencils, erasers and any embellishments desired ex. beads, lace, charms etc... A small work lamp to provide supplemental lighting is recommended. There is a local restaurant (The Crown & Turtle) within a 2 block walk or students may opt to bring their own lunch.
