Continuous Bobbin Lace consists of a background mesh that supports a diversity of artistic expressions. Laces are classified by their grounds in the same way that plants are classified by their flowers. Potatoes, eggplants and tomatoes are from the same Solanaceae family, Chantilly, Blonde and Bucks Point Lace belong to the Tul Point Ground family. Meshes are distinct for each type of lace. Traditional and Contemporary Lace Grounds like TORCHON GROUND / KAT STITCH GROUND / CANE GROUND / SPIDER AND BRAID / ZECCATELLO/ CRAZY TUL / CHAOTIC GROUND will be made using T-shirt yarns, on a large scale.
This use of lace grounds can be an inspiration for home decoration, installations and fashion. The invisible stitching called Point de Racroc will be taught to join two pieces of Tul together.
