Is there anything more feminine and stylish than a beautiful, silk scarf? The French use them to dress up everything from jeans to evening gowns. In this class, students will leave with an understanding of how to use natural materials such as plants and berries to dye silk scarves. This knowledge can then be applied at home for to die wool and other natural materials as well.  Students will leave with a dyed silk scarf.

We feel especially fortunate to have noted ACAC member and fibre artist; Diny Warren as the instructor for this class. Diny's interest in fibre art is longstanding.  She holds a master spinner designation.  "

Spinning is considered an intermediate art form as we need to create other things after the yearn is spun.  I use the yarns for weaving, rug hooking and knitting  In order to have the colours for specific projects, getting involved in dyeing was a natural step to take. "

She enjoys natural dyeing as it always presents  an extra layer of surprise.  Silk is very receptive to dyes and this makes it a great material to use for natural dyes.

Class size is limited to 8 so don't delay in signing up for this fabulous opportunity to learn about natural dying.
