Instructor Bio: Ms Erla Sigurdardottir was born (1966) and raised in Reykjavík. She is a business administrator and has worked for the past two decades at the National Hospital.

Her interest in needlework started early, as both her parents were creative individuals. She started knitting and crocheting at a young age and has knitted garments for the extended family in a variety of shapes and sizes over the years, including custom made sweaters for her sister’s dogs. Ideas for projects come from national and international recipes, which she designs according to her own ideas and she always gets new challenges to deal with. Erla got interested in quilting because of her mother's interest in it and she has served as the chairman of the Icelandic Quilting Club for a three-year period. Her most recent project is a quilt inspired by Katja Marek and her new hexagon. Erla has attended both shorter and longer courses of various needlework that have proven to be valuable to add to the quality of her work.
