“Learn to Knit” is a series of classes created for beginner knitters or anyone wishing to refresh their skills - Part One is a 2 session class during which, the following techniques will be taught: Cast Ons Cast Offs Knit Stitch Purl Stitch Stitch Recognition Counting Stitches and Rows Increase and Decrease Correcting Mistakes Using “Life Lines” Weaving in ends Reading a simple pattern As a class project, a Wash Cloth will be started during the 2nd class No prior knitting experience is necessary Class Duration: 2 - 2 Hour Classes Maximum Students: 6 Material List: Note these materials will be useful for future projects. 4.5 mm Set of Double Pointed Needles 4.5 mm x 60cm Circular Needles 2 Colours of Worsted Weight Yarn - 30 gms of each colour (not dark colours) Note: If your yarn is in a skein, please pre wind before class Bernat Handicrafter Cotton Yarn - 1 - 50gm Ball (or equivalent 100% Cotton Yarn) Removable Stitch Markers (also known as Locking Stitch Markers) Ring Stitch Markers Yarn Needle Scissors Highlighter Tape or Post It Notes Pen/Pencil and Note Pad Cost for class is $40 for Members and $45 for Non Members. + Materials.
