Week One Class Outcomes This class will teach how to knit basic flat, 1 colour Brioche as follows: Flat Brioche Knit Stitch Flat Brioche Rib Brioche Increases and Decreases Brioche Cast Off How to count the Brioche stitches and rows Stitch recognition How to read a Brioche Chart Choosing suitable yarn, needles and gauge for knitted Brioche Students will receive my written and charted instructions for the small sample that you will be working on in the class. My “Brioche Notes” are also included. Material List Week One: 4 mm Needles - (Double Points, Circular or Straight) - Needles with good points are best suited for Brioche knitting 100% Wool Worsted Weight Yarn - This should not be a Superwash yarn - 30 gms will be enough Stitch Markers Scissors Highlighter Tape or Post It Notes Pen/Pencil and Note Pad Week Two Class Outcomes This class will teach how to circularly knit a 2 colour Brioche Cowl using the following techniques: Circularly knit Brioche Knit and Purl Stitches using 2 colours Circularly knit Brioche Rib using 2 colours Circularly knit Brioche Faux Cables Brioche Increases and Decreases How to count the Brioche stitches and rounds How to transition from round to round when Brioche knitting Stitch recognition How to read a Brioche Chart Materials List:- Week Two 2 Colours of Worsted Weight 100% Wool Yarn - Make sure that there’s a high contrast between the 2 colours - 100 gms of Main Colour 100 gms of Contrast Colour 4mm x 60cm Circular Needle - Needles with good points are best suited for Brioche knitting - Note: If you’re a tight knitter, please go up a needle size.
